20th June 2012 — 19:00 to 22:00 Local Time

Modes: SSB / CW/ Data

Open to anyone who wishes to take part

The aim of the event is to get on the air and work as many stations that you can in the allotted time period plus at the same time have some fun. We are Radio Amateurs after all and we are supposed to get on the air and make contacts so come on then let me see you doing it.
After the event can you send me a copy of your log, I know they are not mandatory but it will enable me to write up some report on what you all managed to achieve plus why not update the club tables and show everyone else what you achieved.

Closing Date for the Logs is Friday, 6th July 2012

Look forward to a massive turnout for the event…

Museum of Flight GB2MOF – Fri15th to Sun 17th June

GB2MOF will be operational from the Museum of Flight this weekend as part of the “International Museums on the Air” event, an event we have been involved in since 2001.

We will be setting up on Friday afternoon in Hanger 1 at the museum from about 13:00 onwards and if you are free and wish to help you will be more than welcome. The aim is to get at least 2 hours operating after the build before the 17:00 Museum closure.

Saturday we hope to be on the air from 08:00 through to 17:00 and Sunday from 08:00 through to 15:30.

The station will consist of 2 x HF stations – one dedicated to 40M and the other 20/15/10M depending on band conditions.

Come along and take part and have some fun working a large station and the hopeful pile-ups.

PW 2M QRP Contest – Sunday 10th June 2012 09:00 to 16:00 UTC

Look out for MM0VTV/P this Sunday (10th June 2012) in the PW 2M QRP Contest starting at 09:00 to 16:00 UTC. The aim is to operate from Lauder Common (between Lauder & Stow in the borders). Will be operating primarily on SSB.

The aim with this contest is with 3 watts is to contact as many other stations as possible and as many large Maindenhead squares. The squares are the multiplier so hence the need to contact as many as possible.

A call from any of you would be greatly appreciated and for any newbies then you require to give  a signal report, serial number and your Maidenhead locator square i.e. 59 020 IO85MX

Look forward to hearing from you all

PORT SETON GALA DAY – Sat 2nd June 2012 09:00 to 16:00

SATURDAY 2nd June 2012
09:00 to 16:00
Venue: George IV Park (next to Community Centre)
The club has supported the local Gala Day for many years as we are also part of the Community. It also gives us the opportunity to “play radio” plus allowing the general public to see amateur radio in operation.
The station will consist of a FT1000MP feeding a W3DZZ antenna. It is not a big station by any means compared to what will be set-up for the Museum of Flight event in June but it still gives a great opportunity to “play radio”.The station will be set-up in a tent starting about 09:00 and finishing at 16:00.
For those eligible to try and win the VIC TROPHY for this year this is the first of the club events that you can take part in. Hope you will make an effort to do so.
If you are free to help setting up and dismantling or available for the whole event I am really looking forward to seeing you.
