The Club are taking part in the RSGB Centenary celebrations by putting on the special event station GM100RSGB from Barns Ness LIghthouse over the weekend of 16/17 November.

It is with deep sadness that I have to report the passing of yet another of our radio clubs amazing characters and a great friend.
Mr Bob Purves (GM4IKT) passed away this afternoon (26/6/17) at 12:20pm.
Bob will be remembered as a family man, a keen aero modeller and radio ham who quietly encouraged lots of the new blood in our club and was always on hand with a vast technical knowledge which he shared freely.
I am in touch with Margaret and will share details of the funeral as they become available.

Just built a prototype 6m moxon antenna. Took me about an hour. Cost me six quid for plumbers pipe, the rest was bits I had in the shack. Let you know how it performs when it's on the tower but it's rough tuned on my shed and that's close enough for government work 😀
