Thanks Tom for providing 70cms..
Have a wedding (my Sons) to sort next couple of weeks then will be after some help to thread the 'wire' for the tower - will make it very easy to get pre-amp and antenna's down. Will hassle everyone when time comes.
I could be there after work on the Friday till the Sunday but I just want to drink beer and eat pig !
I could be there Saturday morning till Sunday, am happy to do a shift or two but I'd also like to drink beer and eat pig
Joking apart, this an epic site for radio and it's not far from home. VHF / UHF contesting is a whole different ballgame to HF 5/9 operating, its a real skill and when the bands are open, it can be really amazing, some people can even work Spain on 70CMs but that takes a whole other skillset !!! 😉
Anyone (1) able to tow a tower or (2) got any scaffold poles or similar that they could bring?
Anyone happy to drive the hire van from/back to Tranent as this would mean I can tow a tower. Putting 6m/4m on the tower would be a big help as higher ant, less hardware for 3 pipe masts, and probably less time as well. I can drive the hire van or the car but unfortunately not both.
The farmer has his new internet mast in the middle of the field now, hopefully it won't cause any QRM.
Saw that under construction in previous years, Jim. Is it on SHF? Do you know who it serves?
