I'm cleaning out my workshop and want rid of some of the accuulated radio parts. Too good to skip, but someone might want some of this.

Here's a photographic  sample…

A few valves, and some bases…

If you're interested, get in contact, either email or phone.

There's other stuff not pictured, including a triband HF yagi, various other antenna parts, an HV PSU for a big amp (4kV, 1.5A), complete and on castors as its so heavy!, and two chassis of linears, that could be re-built. (6m)

Some of this I'd like a few pounds for, but most if free for the taking.

Geoff, MM5AHO

edit.

I can't easily line up the text and images. But if you don't recognise the parts, you don't need them anyway!

Hi Geoff… worrying if you are tidying up, it is not like you as I thought you were the prolific hoarder!!!!!

Coax relays asre they VHF or HF?

Yes I'm a horader, that's why I have so much junk (well good stuff!).

But the shed is supposed to be a 2 car garage, there was only ever room for one car and my junk, now the other car is out to do any work in there…

I've stripped a pile of old radio chassis I had, saving the good bits, and scrapping the metalwork. That filled my trailer!

The coax relays could be used at either VHF or HF, but they're not high power. Would handle 100W, but not for downstream of a linear!

In the pic, the two at bottom left are direct wired with coax.

The two bottom right, one black with TNC connectors (I think they are), and bloe one above that black one is mounted on PCB and coax solders to connection points that way.

Could make a low power masthead preamp?

I have some more, but used them in a high power handling 6m masthead preamp, which I have yet to use in anger, but have tested. That with a sequencer and all.

Does no-one construct anything these days??

Ok Geoff I was thinking of VHF and the relays but as 100W then we can't use. Glad I asked.

Would be nice to try your 6M Pre-AMp on VHF Field Day but we would need a sequencer for it.

Construction just never have time at this end. Used to build bits and pieces but I haven't for a long time.

Good luck…

Why not use the sequencer that comes with it. (you read too quickly?)

Has little green flashy leds on front of a nice aluminium box with another winky to show it's "heartbeat".

The box with preamp has heavy relays that will switch medium current, but sequencer means that its not really "hot switching" anyway.

The preamp board is the kit that Colin was selling some time back. Seems to me a good design.

HNY to all, from "sunny" Blackburn!

I've put some pictures of the various stuff that I have for sale (or free to the needy), here…

http://s248.photobucket.com/al…..dio/parts/

You should find some brief description with each image (except the out of focus ones!)

Get in contact soon if you're interested in any of this. Some moved yesterday, and others are interested.

Geoff,

The clansman PRC320 I have needs a 24V supply to charge the battery / run off the mains (originally it was 24V military vehicle supplies). I've been using 2* HP supplies I have in series but it's a pain in the but, and they are marginal on their current rating.

I've been thinking of building a beefy 24 supply, if you have a transformer and any suitable caps that would

be suitable for the project I'd gladly pay something or contribute to the club funds.

I'm ideally looking for ~4A at 24V I think.

Nial.

I'm guessing that you'll need about 28-30V transformer to do a 24V DC PSU after regulation, a bridge recitifier, some 2N3055 transistors, perhaps 2-3, a voltage regulator and  some smoothing capacitance, say 22000uF@50V and a few other minor components, connectors etc and a chassis.

Think I could do all this except the chassis. Main item is the transformer. I'll have a look on Saturday at whats there. Might have to connect a few up and see what comes out the other end?

I'll let you know.

Thanks Geoff, as I said the clansman charger was used with vehicle supplies so the input voltage probably isn't _too_ critical.

I'm in no mad rush!

I had a good look and guess what? I found a complete 24V PSU

It's about 280 x 130 x 120mm. Maker Farnell Instruments Ltd Wetherby, Yorks. Model F24/5, stabilised PSU. Serial 000671.

5A fused output, Connectors are a sheilded row of spade type ro screw terminals. Quite a neat unit, a bit heavy, but should do your job.

Next thing is how to get it to you? Want to email me to set that up? I'm in Dunfermline Tuesday – any good? You make a donation to the club funds and its yours.

Any chance of a few doorknob caps for future use on my Butternut HF6V?
