Hi, the radio has now gone.

On behalf of the widow of a colleague who is downsizing, there is a Murphy B40 naval short wave receiver free to a good home. ‘Admiralty Pattern 57140x.’ Standard in surface ships and submarines from 1953 to 1956. It weighs 46kg and worked the last time it was switched on, some years ago.

The Murphy B40 Series of Naval Communications Receivers are receivers for shipboard use (British Navy, submarine), coverage 640 kHz to 30600 kHz in five ranges, IF-selectivity 1kHz/3kHz/8kHz, BFO. Also fix-frequency crystal-option. Also referred as “lighthouse- or tower-receiver”.

If anyone is interested in the radio or has any suggestions on who might be interested, please get in touch.
