RACAL RA17L Superhetrodyne HF Receiver – FREE TO GOOD HOME (maybe a donation to Club Funds?)
Complete with Technical Manual and leads.
“This set does “power-up”, but unfortunately no signal. Personally unable to delve into the gubbins – if I had the space in my shack; I would be tempted to keep it as a static display – BUT!
Depending on location; happy to deliver (ie within reason)
Here's a wee reminder for everyone. There is strictly no advertising on this page. There is a for sale / wanted section on our web site for that. cpsarc.com/forums/forum/for-sale/ All adverts, however they are presented will be deleted. ... See MoreSee Less
Who advertised? Your post contained an extract of a post I made yesterday about modding a silver rod but wasn't advertising anything??
I offered a hand set in a thread to someone who was seeking information on scanners I'm a bad man !! It was in a thread so didn't see the problem.
Nothing personal Adrian, just the way it is. There is a for sale section on the web site, this page is just for discussion. OK you were trying to help but with posts like that one, you get other people coming on with comments like "Its no worth that mate" or I have one for sale for less and all of a sudden the page is drowned in that kind of thing. When the page was created, the decision was made to not have adverts of any kind, just like it says in the pinned post that everyone is directed to when they join the page. There are plenty of radio for sale pages on Facebook. Ok, I get that you were trying to help and that's great but we cant have one rule for some and one for others. Perhaps sending the page member a PM with the details would have been better.
It's fine mate I was just trying to help out but never again ! I'll sell everything I get now on eBay at least there's no draconian attitude in there community. ...
No classes on now so pretty bored on a Saturday. You guys may have seen the posts about repairing the wee Kenwood TM251e which is now all done, I've been testing it for a week or so and its all good and ready to go to its new owner.
While testing it, I had it programmed to listen to the Air Band and the Marine Bands. They are actually quite interesting, loads of "stuff" going on so I decided to program my VHF radio to listen there too.
I R'd TFM a few times and eventually got round Yaesu's tech speak and have programmed my FT-3000M with these bands as well as the 2M Amateur Bands.
Here's a wee vid of it scannng through the memories. I clearly chose the most boring and inactive 2 minutes to video but hey ho, you get the idea.
FT-3000M after a bit of programming to receive the Air Band as well as the Marine Band. As live close to both Edinburgh Airport and The Firth of Forth, there... ... See MoreSee Less
RX is all good, I'd never transmit there. Most 2m radios will go there with a bit of tweaking.
This has tweaked my my interest though. I fancy an air band scanner to find out what these witless non time conscious stoats are saying whilst they have me hearded onto the tarmac to await their ageing grimy old Aribuses.
