Here’s some pictures with a flavour of the IOTA contest group from CPSARC last weekend.
On arrival there just seemed endless piles of stuff. Radio stuff, bedding stuff, personal stuff, cable stuff, antenna stuff, and a small amount of bottled stuff.
Then it all needs unpacking and sorting.
But for some a phonecall home first!
Initially only one radio set up, as we had to all sleep in that room the first night. We were able to move beds for subsequent nights.
Some antennas got built smartly, tidily, SWR right first time, and ready to go.
While others had minor difficulties. This one was the subject of much debate about circular polarisation.
Another sparked a long debate about parallax errors.
The flags have become a bit of a tradition, but they certainly generate some interest. Some flags generate more than others!
And so the sun sets on a tiring day or setting up.
Some observers were less than interested…
And so to end – of course the T shirt.
