Return to Contest
Firstly I hope you had a good result during the recent IOTA Contest.
Myself and another member of the VK6RT Team were looking at your antenna farm and would like some assistance.
The photo with the cow in it is the one we refer to.
We will compete in our first contest soon and need help with the antenna support pole.
Can you please tell us what it is made of and dimensions.
We are guessing at steel in 2 x 6metre sections with the 2 bearings and 4 guys on each.
How do you safely erect it and how many team members are involved?
We will be putting a TET-Emtron TE-33 on top which would be similar to yours.
Also what model of rotator is it you used?
All assistance greatly appreciated and we will give you credit on our QRZ page for the assistance.
Thank you in advance.
Hope to work you in the next contest.
Yours in radio.
Stevie I have forwarded to Cambell MM0DXC as I know he is the best person to answer your query. I have lost your email address as well for some reason.
I have sent you an email and good luck with junk night.
Stevie, drop me an email mate, my callsign at aol dot com
I just wanted to close out this post by saying a big thanks to Cambell for his email advice and safe work method statement document.
I now have a sound idea of how we will approach this mast and how to put it up safely.
Goodness there are some laughs on you tube watching people attempt and fail at it.
You assistance was much appreciated.
