Might give that a wee go and give some points away.
Bob Glasgow , just heard you shouting away on 20m. You're making it to Musselburgh at least 😉
Old skool. Just a rig, laptop and a 40/80m dipole, no amplifier. Search & Pounce on 20m. Easy peasy.
Ended up with 125 QSO's. Gave up about 1400 as had worked everyone i could hear on 20m. Bigger struggle today i must admit
Heard Jim MM0DXH work a US station but the US station didn't hear me. Need to get amp warmed up......
Log uploaded as well
Enjoyed what i done i must admit. How did the rest of you fare.
I finished on 218 for 67.6k points yesterday was pants today a little better but no Brazil, no Carribbean apart from Aruba guess cv19 stopped a lot travelling worked JA And BD to east but no other Asia oh and Afghanistan bit sparse really
I need to move up to 400w from 100w.
Managed 220 QSOs and 65k points with 100w. St Martin island and Brazil at end.
Nope, sorry, not accurate! There are no stink lines coming up off of at least one of those amateur enthusiasts, and..........one of them should be wearing a skirt. He would also still have a beard. These non-inclusive pictures must stop! Anyway, I’m off to sort my makeup
How are they meant to swap QSL cards after a QSO ?
Haha that made me chuckle Brian, I probably should of asked first, I have shared the picture, is that ok?

I need to consult the collective mind. I live in the middle of a row of houses, with another row 20m from my house and back garden. I’d really like to put up a multiband vertical mounted to the back garden side of the house, so that the bottom of the antenna is just above gutter height. My problem is, it’s a council house. What is the experience of our group as far as whether my council (Fife), would be ok as far as planning goes? ... See MoreSee Less
I tagged Andy in this as I think he's been through all of this with the same council
Could you get away with something almost ground mounted ?
I think you would get away with that, I've had some large antennas up here and not had a complaint.
If you mounted the aerial on a trailer and it's moveable can they do anything about it ?
I have used a modified cb radio antenna with a loading coil on 40m. About 7m high was mounted on a 4 foot scaffold pole sledge hammered in the ground..I buried 8 random radials in the lawn etc . Didn't attract any attention when I stayed in a the lake district row of semi detached houses. Also used it at Clermiston in Edinburgh. Have you tried a home brew Windom. I'd wing it but don't come bleating if the clowncil come round. Am not an expert but I don't think you need planning for a 7m vertical say. The antenna was made by GM4ZOA btw was a good match on most bands.
My trap dipole has been up for many many years, even before the 40m band was extended to 7.2MHz so it has always been a little long. Today saw a bit of adjustment with about 4” being lost from the 40m section and about the same on 80m as this antenna has always favoured the CW end of the band. I now have a 1:1.6 SWR at the upper edges of each band and a lovely dip in the SSB section which is where I want to work. I’ve been putting this job off for ages. It took me 10 mins !! ... I’m thinking, it’s be a good time to put up any huge or unsightly (if there is such a thing to an amateur) antenna. The local planners aren’t going to be about, doing their jobs for a while!!
Honestly.........just joking, or.........
