I really did get quite a shock when I read John’s article in the May 2018 RADCOM to find out the John had passed away on the 7th April at the age of 97.75 years old.

I have visited John on a number of occasions over the years and he was certainly a real character. He always had some great stories to tell. When you visited John it wasn’t just a 5 minute visit, the one you planned but it could end up 2 to 3 hours later.

He told me he would have loved to have been involved with the Radio Club but unfortunately due to his health he was unable to attend. He did though write a few articles for our Newsletter as away of being involved

As always our deepest sympathies go out to his family at this time. RIP…John

Facebook feed

Unfortunately recent changes to the Facebook API mean that the facebook feed widget which was in the right hand sidebar is no longer able to display the feed from a Facebook group so I’ve had to remove it which is a pity as it was a paid for feature.

You can still see the group on Facebook at
