NEW CLUB TROPHY’s FOR NEW LICENSEES and OTHER LICENSEE’S

New club Trophies have been created in memory of one of the club’s founder members and club stalwart Bob Purves GM4IKT who died in 2017.

It was at a request from Bob to create a Trophy to try and encourage new licensees to go on the air and make QSO’s. The idea that we came up with was put to Bob before he passed away and he just loved it. It is working all the Italian Call Sign Prefix’s …. Bob just loved working Italians …..NOT. if you know what I mean.

Italy for us here in Scotland is a relative easy country to contact so there shouldn’t be any bother making  a QSO with any Italian stations.

I decided that it will start on the 1st January and run for the whole year. I missed the start of 2018 so that is the reason it is starting in 2019

In the end two trophies have been created:

  • The BOB PURVES GM4IKT TROPHY
    • For those who received their licence in the last 3 years
    • Will be presented Annually
    • All Bands can be contacted
    • The Modes can be – CW, SSB or DATA
  • The ITALIAN TROPHY
    • For all other amateurs who have been licensed from whenever…
    • Will be presented annually.
    • All Bands can be contacted
    • The Modes can be – CW, SSB or DATA

A full description of the rules and spreadsheets are in the club’s download section for both trophies – BOB PURVES GM4IKT and ITALIAN Trophy Rules – 2019 V1.0.docx

A copy of the spreadsheet to keep a track of the Italian prefixes contacted  on what Band and on what Mode – ITALIAN AREAS Tracking V2.0.xlsx

A copy of the spreadsheet updated as an example of what I did in 2018. Shows how you fill it out. – GM4UYZ 2018 – ITALIAN AREAS Tracking V2.0.xlsx

Copies also available to download from the club’s website – http://cpsarc.com/downloads/

I hope you will all take part in this in memory of Bob GM4IKT Table 6 Col
